7) Question of the Month about Software Training:Each month Scott Turton will answer a current or important question that we have received about computer and software training.
September 2005 Question:
What is another method you use to find all of the free computer training for software, Microsoft Office, and web development on the web?
Here is another type of google search you can do to find the free computer training, tutorials and books that you are looking for.
Answer:For your main keywords use the name of a book on the subject you are searching in double quotes, followed by (pdf OR zip OR chm OR rar) -purchase -buy -shopping -review -cart -price -sale. So, for example, doing a search for Excel, you would enter the following into google's search box: "excel book" (pdf OR zip OR chm OR rar) -purchase -buy -shopping -review -cart -price -sale.
Here are the links to 4 google searches using this method:
Microsoft Access:
http://www.google.com/...SearchMacromedia Flash:
http://www.google.com/...SearchAdobe Photoshop:
http://www.google.com/...SearchWeb Development:
http://www.google.com/..SearchYou will still need to dig a little into the results of these searches, but you should find what you're looking for. I recommend reviewing at least 100, and preferable 200 search results from these searches to find the best free training content and materials.
I hope this helps you.Scott Turton
